In winter Les Gets is a traditional ski resort with excellent local skiing, yet unspoilt by large scale developments. Its geographical position at 1172m in the mountain pass gives it a snow record which compares favourably with higher ski resorts. The village lies between the two mountains of Mont Chery and Les Chavannes, and it is possible to ski down to the village on both sides of the valley for much of the winter season.

The resort is known to stay open when many are closed due to a huge investment in a system of snow cannons and of course the hard work of Les Gets's piste maintenance team. Les Gets is part of the Portes du Soleil, one of the largest linked ski systems with 14 resorts and over 600km of piste.
